Spring decoration for the kitchen – inspiration from next125 and interior stylist Leonie Pauls

Herrieden, 29.04.2024

How can you make the kitchen your favourite place in the house? Carefully think out your plans and adapt them to the specific demands of your kitchen, ensure practical functionality and use high-quality materials. It’s important to employ decorative elements selectively; only then will your kitchen come to life and give the room a homely charm.

Hamburg-based content creator Leonie Pauls has some suggestions for decorating. She promotes a style that’s both daring and elegant – characteristics that perfectly complement the principles of next125. The focus on accented, high-quality decoration especially highlights the subtle elegance of next125.

How compelling contrasts can create a harmonious aesthetic

Wood paired with stainless steel; smooth SensiQ Inox meets groove aesthetics. The principle of contrasts is something Pauls uses in her decoration concept as well, where colourintensive floral arrangements are set off against neutral material colours. Pink is ‘in’ at Leonie Pauls’ place. Combining a brightly coloured Flowerpot table lamp by Verner Panton, subtle rosy glasses and pastel wall decoration with decorative kitchen utensils or a lush bouquet, she provides a contrast to the clear-cut lines and no-frills design of the next125 kitchen. In doing so, the decoration used deftly breaks the mould of the restrained nature of a next125.

Leonie Pauls uses the iconic next125 sideboard, equipped with English pull-outs and vegan leather upholstery, to create a transition that flows into the adjacent living room. The timelessly elegant yet practical furniture can be used in a variety of ways. “The surface of a sideboard is a good space for decor and the interior provides practical storage space,” says Leonie. High-quality accessories made of MEISSEN porcelain make an elegant companion to the understated design of the sideboard. To create a harmonious visual contrast, she uses playful accents such as the DIY plate wall installation in delicate pastel shades.

An elegant interplay of light in the kitchen

The light sources used create a homely ambience. “In room and kitchen planning, lighting effects and conditions are very important to me,” says the interior enthusiast with conviction. Indirect lighting on the grip ledge profiles and plinth create a pleasant atmosphere in the kitchen while providing interesting contrasts. The lighting elements gently diffuse the light, giving the room a cosy and homely feel. The next125 glass display unit puts treasured possessions in the limelight.

The next125 Frame in particular focuses on the aspect of light and uses subtle background lighting to set the scene for the select decorative elements. It’s a place for Pauls to nestle vases of flowers, cookbooks and art prints in the Frame and arrange spices, knives, napkins, glasses and salt and pepper shakers in a cleverly thought-out display. And she manages to achieve all this without losing any workspace. After all, no matter how a kitchen is decorated, it should still meet the practical needs of its owners. Sophisticated solutions from next125 allow decoration and work to come together seamlessly.
